Lea Bogdan has 10+ years of working knowledge in many industries including furniture, lighting, consumer products, graphics, packaging, and display design. In addition to her continued freelance work, her diverse career has included working with Richard Shultz, Michael Graves, Eldon Design Associates, Josh Owen, Antiques of the Future, Smurfit Stone Display Group, and instructing at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Prior to moving to Chicago in 2009 to design with the team at
Masco Product Design, she spent four years developing innovative storage and lighting for the luxury household at
Robern Company.
Lea is involved in
many side projects outside of her industrial design career. She has always had a passion for sustainable design and practices, and now she has the opportunity to write about notable examples for
Inhabitat.com. Lea is always looking for more ways to use her creative skills and design experience.
The products she developed at Robern company were widely published and highly awarded including a Good Design Award (2007), Home Magazine Award, K+BB Best of Year, Interior Design Magazine Best of Year Award, Kohler NPD Award for Best in Innovation and Sustainable Design 2009. Her work has been recognized in many exhibitions and publications including being featured in the Eco Design Handbook and "Becoming a Product Designer". She was awarded the First Place Professional Winner of the International Design Resource Awards, Japan, 2002-2003, and Winner of the Biennial International Design Competition, St-Etienne France, 2002.
