Uplift Cabinet
2009
The Uplift Suite, introduced at the 2009 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, consists of a vertically opening mirrored cabinet, and complimentary luminaires that are designed for task and grooming applications. The Uplift Cabinet from Robern answers the need to hide clutter and provides options for creating a personalized and expressive grooming space.

The sleek mirrored door of the cabinet opens upward, allowing the seamless mirror to span up to four feet wide. An aluminum handle enables effortless two-finger lifting of the door to avoid smudging the mirror, while the door has a position-hold feature that allows it to remain in a partially open position. Other cabinets with a seamless horizontal mirror might be limiting for households with petite and tall persons, but the vertically lifting door accommodates a very large height range of people to perform grooming tasks comfortably.

Robern is known for their quality aluminum construction of their cabinets and adjustable glass shelves, and the Uplift Cabinet is no exception. The cabinets are available in widths of 30, 36 and 48 inches with a height of 27 inches. The cabinets also can be paired side-by-side to create a luxurious his-and-hers vanity space. The cabinet has generous interior space, it can be wall mounted, recessed fully or semi-recessed into the wall, and trimmed with side, top and bottom kits for a compact and finished look.

The Uplift cabinet provides storage solutions for many of the diverse items kept in a bathroom. If a homeowner needs to organize makeup, tweezers, first aid supplies and medicines, the Uplift cabinet includes an option for a flexible organizer shelf with movable compartments to meet changing needs. And what to do with those multiple electronic personal care items such as electric shavers and curling irons? This cabinet offers outlets for up to six powered devices. It’s also easy to find stored personal items as Uplift’s interior lighting turns on as soon as the door is opened. Additionally, an optional night light in the cabinet’s handle allows users to find their way around the bath during the night, or adds acts as a decorative accent during the day. An optional mirror defogger, which is included with the handle nigh light, allows for mirror use even in a steam filled room. Both options are controlled by sleek LED indicators on the cabinet interior.

People are multi-tasking in their bathrooms. As they get ready for the day or evening, they may want to learn about the latest news and weather. By incorporating an optional TV mount for an LCD television and a discreet wiring enclosure to contain all unsightly wires, the Uplift cabinet brings digital media into the bathroom without adding clutter. Using an innovative patent pending wire management system cords are hidden. The position-hold Uplift door enables users to lift the mirrored door enough to see the television and access supplies on the bottom shelf, while they can still use the mirror for grooming tasks.

Many women like to sit down while applying makeup or doing other daily grooming tasks. Standard mirrors are typically installed above faucets and do not usually allow for sit down grooming, but the Uplift cabinet can be placed behind the faucet and directly on the countertop to create a ing comfortable grooming area. Since the Uplift’s doors slide up, the faucet will not interfere with cabinet doors.

People tend to lean into their mirrors to perform the detailed tasks of applying makeup or shaving, which can be an added stress to your body while grooming. In response, the Uplift cabinet features an optional Pull-Out Magnifying Mirror (POMM). Bringing the 3x magnifying mirror toward you to groom creates less ergonomic stress. The mirror also pivots for better viewing angles and retracts neatly into the cabinet.

The Uplift cabinet is manufactured in the United States and considers sustainable manufacturing practices. Made from primarily of recyclable aluminum and glass, the quality and durability of the Uplift cabinet is intended to last the life of a house, while also designed for ease of disassembly and recycling in case it ever needs to be removed. The aluminum body of the Uplift Cabinet consists of 60% recycled content, which complies with the LEED rating for recycled content. The aluminum has an innovative acid etched anodizing treatment in which all of the byproducts are recyclable. It is superior to traditional anodizing in its uniform appearance and because the process uses less energy and reduces the waste of a typical anodic coating process by 90%. The low wattage LED interior light and optional night light in the cabinet handle comply with the strict energy-conserving guidelines of California Building Standards Code (Title 24) and have ETL approval. The cabinet is shipping in fully recyclable no formaldehyde wood or cardboard packaging, with no harmful foam content
